Hi, I'm Tom Brent, chief cook and bottle washer.
In the past there has been some confusion on how I work with people, I'm hoping that this will help.

First, a little bit about me. At 14 I got a job and paid for my own course in electronics. I graduated 4 yrs. later with a diploma in Electronics Technology from CIE, at 19 I obtained my FCC 1st Class commercial license from the government. This allowed me to setup and maintain Radio, Television, and land based Radar stations. Since then I have worked in many positions in the (electronics) field. The final position was Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt in the research division. From there I went on to learn computer programming and design and building computer systems for clients and others. In my life I have designed antenna's, radio's, infra-red detection device's, and many other devices. I became interested in Solar Power some 12 yrs. ago. It was expensive at the time and I starting building a modest system to try out. Prices became more affordable in 2022 and I decided to go "all in" and power the place I live in along with my shop. Over the next year or two I gained a lot of experience in Solar power and people started to ask me for help. As I got involved in repairing systems, I realized how many people needed help. The problem is most of the solar power companies simply sell systems, and in many cases the systems are too small to really power much. And you pay huge fee's for a disappointing system. I decided to help, so R35solar was born. A Christian based entity with the philosophy of treating others as you would like to be treated.

How I work
Almost always people consult with me first to get answers to their questions.
From there, if they decide to hire me, I charge an "Engineering Fee". What is that ?
Simply put, I design a system based on your needs from start to finish.. It is an "Engineering fee" because I design the system. I supply drawings, equipment list's and parts list's for you to buy your system directly. In most case's, this includes where to buy, and wholesale prices where possible. No middle man.. Saving you $$$. This fee varies with location, and my involvement. In All Cases, I help you on-site, or remotely, to install, wire, program (where needed)your system. This Does Not mean I "Install your system", I "help" you, install your system. And I "help" others involved with your installation, set it up, wiring it, and program it as needed. You may have your own people install the system, or you can do it yourself. Or I can come out to help install and program your system. If I come out, and I have my own help, there is an extra charge for the people who work with me on-site. (We all have to eat).
Buying and installing a system this way will save you thousands of dollars.$$$
When finished, you will have a system that rivals any commercial grade system. And it costs thousands less than what you would pay a commercial company for the same system.
Example: If you spent $30,000 on your own system with me, it would cost you $60,000 or more for a commercial company price.
I use Schneider, Sol-Ark, EG4 or tested Chinese. Those are 3 of the most respected names in the business.

Trust
I am old school. My word is my bond. I do not use contracts, all of our arrangements are verbal. My fee is Non-Refundable. This is to ensure my payment in the event you change your mind.
The fee is payable upon an agreement, in full. Arrangements are made in advance for any scheduled payment.
Payments are check, Zelle, or Cash.
The whole point of this is to save you money, and provide you with a system that is comparable to any commercial system available today. For a lot less money. The system design is made to fit your budget. Some pricing you will receive will be wholesale..

I work with your budget as much as possible. I will not put a system together that is dangerous. I will recommend manufacturers of American made equipment when possible. If I use Chinese made components I test them before recommending them in the design. Read about hacking from the home page link.
