A very unusual thing has occured.On May 29th, a website mostly known for financial news published a story about what would happen if the grid failed. This is unusual in the sense that they don't normally publish articles like this and for them to decide to do it seems to indicate they expect trouble soon. Below is the link to the article for you to read. Although this is fictional, it comes close to reality and should be a warning for us all.

I've recommended a book to read called "One second after" which is scientically accurate, it covers on what would happen in the event of a nationwide grid failure. Youtube has a free audio book version I've been told. It is NOT SUITABLE for CHILDREN !
